Project Info
Boral engaged Harmonic Design to develop a concept for an Administration & Amenities building within their Geelong cement works. The site is an extensive concrete-parts production facility that has been evolving within an industrial precinct for several years. Working closely with Arcadis (engineers), Harmonic Design led a design-driven process for this building component across a complex site where built form was often subordinate to plant and processing operations.
A detailed documentation phase was undertaken to rationalise an earlier concept. This phase included full specification of the interior fitout (finishes, furniture, joinery) and coordination of technical documentation.
Following this period of intensive work, the project was paused due to shifting priorities on site.
Key project elements:
Site logistics and security measures tailored to an active industrial precinct.
A small laboratory intended to support testing and production of eco-cement / eco-concrete. Harmonic Design coordinated the laboratory equipment and layout and rationalised the interfacing plant, services, and structural support for the building.
Close coordination with Arcadis to integrate structural engineering, services, and the logistical requirements within the flagship building.
Scope of work:
Building Design (rationalised form, structure & planning and consultant co-ordination).
Interior Design (Furniture, Joinery, Fixtures & Finishes).
Documentation for Costing & Construction.
Construction Cost
$1.2m
Duration of services:
